ENGLISH LANGUAGE DVD RELEASES (US & AU)
The OVAs were much better with their DVD release than the TV series in that the US and Australia got the exact same DVD release as the Japanese, almost down to the letter. The only differences being that the the English language release rebranded the series "Hellsing Ultimate", the US Limited edition DVDs came in a Steelbook Design instead of Japan's Digi-pack design, the audio commentary was with the US vocal cast instead of the Japanese crew, and neither release included the Liner Note booklets.
Also, Australia never got the dual-release situation, instead getting one release with the DVD box art of the US Standard Edition, all of the special features of the Limited Edition, and no extra gifts, such as the character busts or the art books.
Due to a complicated rights issue, the English Language DVD releases were, for the longest time, on Hiatus starting with Volume 4. At Anime Expo 2010, FUNimation, the current rights holder for Hellsing, announced the hiatus as over, giving OVA Volumes V-VII a tentative release date of "2011".
