CALL TO ARMS FANSUBS
We here at CTA are just as enthusiastic about the Hellsing OVA releases as the next fan. Unfortunately, the time it takes Japan to release the OVA DVDs compared to the time it takes for English speaking fans to attain English dubbed DVDs is few and far between. That's where we, the fans step in, by providing absolutely free fan-based English soft-subtitle files.
These files are available for a limited time only, and will be removed upon the official English dubbed release of these titles.

Q: Why Are you Fansubbing Hellsing? Isn't it Licensed?
A: It is, but there was a really odd mixup of problems that caused it to not be for a while. First off, the series used to take a whole YEAR between releases in Japan, which meant the wait for the US Edition was rather large on its own. Then, around the release of OVA IV, Geneon USA shut down their sales division. FUNimation swooped in to pick up the Hellsing license, however their contract only included OVAs 1-4, and didn't include any more. That is why you hadn't seen any information on the official release of OVAs V-VII in English until Anime Expo 2010.
Q: Are they at least working on getting the new episodes out?
A: Yes, FUNimation made a full official announcement at Anime Expo 2010. The new episodes were announced to be out sometime in 2011. New news from FUNimation revealed a slight delay due to Geneon's sale to Universal Studios Japan, but no info on whether or not they will still make the 2011 date.
Q: You guys used to be "Demon Rin" Fansubs right?
A: Yes, but we changed the name because we got a new website, and Rin no longer liked being the sole name on a rather hefty group project. She felt it made her seem more important than the rest of the team, when she isn't since this is a group project.
Q: If you guys used to be Demon Rin, that means you did OVA 3 and 4 right?
A: Yes we did, a LONG time ago when they first came out, only UV wasn't part of the group at the time.
Q: Where can I find OVA 3 and 4 then? You don't have them here
A: We don't have them here because the official DVDs HAVE been released for those volumes, and we are not fansubbing to replace the official release, or so people can download our Fansubs instead of buying the official DVDs. We do not support piracy, and urge you to purchase Hellsing in its anime forms when available.
Q: But isn't fansubbing in general piracy?
A: Technically, yes it's still considered piracy but before the DVD has been released in America/Australia, it's basically a Robin Hood effort. The Hellsing fans who don't have an official release have no other way to see the series AT ALL, so they are the "Poor" and our fansubs "Rob from the Rich" to give to the poor. However, once we get an official release, the fans aren't "Poor" anymore, so it just becomes straight up theft at that point, so we stop. It may still be technically piracy, but morally we think we're good for advertising the official release.
Q: I see you only have these "Soft-Sub" Files available for the OVA episodes. What are these?
A: They're rather small files that contain JUST the subtitles. We do not offer any actual video files here, only those files. You need to find your own Raws for the Episodes.
Q: But why?
A: It ties into the above-mentioned legal situation. We don't offer video files here, because that would INDEED be illegal. All we offer are text-based subtitle files, so we aren't actually giving people Hellsing. So now, we're not only morally in the clear, but legally in the clear as well.
Q: I just downloaded OVA VI (6) and the subtitles are about 30 Seconds off of the video! What's wrong?
A: The problem stems from there being two versions of the Raw floating around on the Net. One version contains an Ad at the beginning for "Dolby Digital". The other version of the Raw has had this Dolby Ad removed and starts straight on the Episode. We've fixed this problem by providing two different versions of the subtitles file in the Zip and RAR files above. Re-download the sub file above to make sure you have the updated file, and check your Raw. If the episode starts with the "Dolby Digital" ad, use the "Dolby Ver" file. If there is no Dolby ad, and it goes straight into the episode, use the "Non-Dolby Ver" file.
Q: Ok, I downloaded the softsub file, now how do I play it?
A: I've made a handy guide on the subject. Check just below this section to see, or check the Readme on the subject contained with every fansub release we do.
HOW TO RUN THE SOFT SUBTITLE FILES
1: Make sure the Soft-sub file and the Video file are in the same Folder
2: Make sure they have the same file name, EX: "Hellsing OVA Episode.avi" and "Hellsing OVA Episode.ssa"
3: Open the file in a program that can handle Soft-sub files, all of the subs have been Tested in Media Player Classic with the Combined Community Codec Pack, and VLC Media player Version 0.8.6c
It SHOULD Autoload the Sub file at this point.
If you need either one of these players, here are the URLs for them
VLC Media Player
The Combined Community Codec Pack (CCCP) With Media Player Classic
Also, the Subs should load in the font "Impress BT". if you dont have that font, it's ok, We've included it with the softsub files on every release.
if you don't like that Font, just don't install it and it will autoload in Arial.
