Hey! Welcome to CtA! Just a question: how behind are you? There are spoilers flying everywhere in some of the forums.

Grand comrade Chopperrules , I am honored to explain that Hellsing presents three organizations! The Hellsing family lead by Integra , master of Alucard , the Iscariot Section XIII lead by Maxwell , under who's command is Paladin Alexander Anderson , the big maniac with regenerative powers and bayonets , they being the priests from the Vatican and of course the Millennium organization lead by the Major , who is protected by his Captain and research specialist Dock! The last organization is the one in control of the ghouls , the German vampire armies and most of Alucard's main vampire opponents!

You have my apologies but us Section XIII fans , me as well as our grand sister Wolf rosen_fenrir like to greed new members on this organization's behalf! :D

Now if you have the time please visit this topic related to each member's user-name origin: viewtopic.php?f=6&t=161&start=0

Good luck in everything you do!

Thank you. I know about the different organizations in the series. I was just curious if you had some similar setup on the forum here. Either way, it's a pretty cool greeting.

I'll check out that thread and others. Thanks again.

Thank you as well.

Hmm, it's been about two years now since I last watched/read anything Hellsing, but if memory serves me I made it to as far as the fourth Ultimate OVA goes... the leader of the Millennium Group was introduced, and I believe Alucard already started a fight against someone who's name slips me. I made it about that far in the manga as well.

Of course, I'll be rewatching/rereading everything up to that point to refresh my memory.

You poor little man. That's only about halfway through the series. :sweatdrop:

So yes, beware of spoilers.

Lol, well don't worry, I plan to catch up in the near future. :P

Ok wow, you are behind! But that's ok!

OVA IV was the Rip Van Winkle Fight, so you are a tad less than halfway through. You are just at the beginning few chapters of Volume 5 of the Manga. meaning you have a little less than 6 volumes more to go.

I recommend re-reading through the Manga and/or re-watching the OVAs to get refreshed (You said it had been 2 years) and then continuing with either the OVA or the Manga (or both!)
Up to OVA VII has been released, which adapts up to the 2nd to last chapter of Volume 7 of the manga. Regardless of what some people think of OVA I-IV, OVAs V-VII are done by a new team, and are almost universally praised for how good they are. So I'd say watch those instead of reading the manga (The voice acting in OVA VII made the scene hit home SO MUCH BETTER than in the Manga IMO)
Then start reading at Book 7 Chapter 9 (56) Angelous. (Or wait for OVA VIII, if you can...)
The story really is great. I hope you get to see/read it all!

Also, WELCOME! I didn't think you'd join here, but I'm glad you did! Have fun and be merry with us.

Thanks for the welcome, Rin. I was planning to join eventually, but I didn't join right when you directed me to your site because of how behind I am. But then I said "what the hell?" and joined now. If anything, it'll motivate me to get started on catching up quicker.

And also thanks for the suggestions. I think I'll do what you suggested and watch the OVAs first, and then read the manga to catch up to the end. Or something to that effect. I guess I'll see as I go along.

And as a side note, the smilies on this forum... are probably the most interesting I have ever seen. :awesome:

I will still recommend reading the manga first (particularly since the job for the I-IV OVA was lackluster compared to the REAL story and characterization IMO), no matter how good the OVA team after episode 5 is (and is VERY good, IMO), if only to have Hirano's art (specially Hirano's Integra who is just hot whereas Nakamori's... is not :DX: ). But yes, OVA VII was just fantastic and so well done. PipxSeras forever, man.

Either way I'll check out both in the end.
